Ex Lucknow   8 Nights / 9 Days   Pilgrimage Full Parikrama

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in 9 Days
— from Lucknow

"Jahan Shiva ki samadhi se nikla ek mani — wahi hai Manimahesh"

There is a meaningful difference between seeing Kailash and completing the Kailash Parikrama. The darshan from Darchen base camp or from the air carries its own grace — but the 52-kilometre circumambulation of Mount Kailash, completed on foot over three days, crossing the Dolma La Pass at 5,630 metres and spending nights at Dirapuk and Zutulpuk in the shadow of the mountain, is a different act entirely. It is not sightseeing. It is pilgrimage in its most complete and ancient form.

Why This Yatra

The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in 9 Days from Lucknow is designed for the pilgrim who wants exactly this -

the full Parikrama, the Mansarovar holy dip, the complete sacred experience — while still benefiting from the helicopter route's elimination of the long overland road journey through Tibet. Starting directly from Lucknow and flying via Nepalgunj and Hilsa to the Tibet border, this package delivers you to Purang in hours rather than days, conserving the physical and spiritual energy you will need for the Parikrama itself. What distinguishes the 9-day itinerary from the 5-day and 11-day options is the quality of its pacing. Two nights at Purang provide genuine acclimatisation time at 3,700 metres before the ascent to Mansarovar and Darchen. One full night at Lake Mansarovar allows the Brahma Muhurta holy dip on Purnima, the complete Mansarovar Puja, and the full 105-kilometre Mansarovar Parikrama by AC bus — without rush. A dedicated acclimatisation day at Darchen before the Parikrama begins gives every pilgrim's body the time it needs to prepare for the Dolma La crossing at 5,630 metres. All departure dates are meticulously Panchang-aligned. Skand Shashthi batches are timed to arrive at Mansarovar on Shashthi; Pradosh Vrat batches reach Dirapuk during Pradosh; Purnima batches arrive at Dirapuk for the full moon night at Kailash's north face — one of the most transcendent experiences the Yatra can offer. Ganesh Chaturthi batches are aligned to arrive at Mansarovar on Chaturthi. Standard dates are ₹2,85,000 per person; Purnima dates, which command the highest demand, are ₹2,90,000 per person. 2026 is the Year of the Horse — the most auspicious Kailash Yatra cycle in twelve years. One Parikrama in 2026 earns the spiritual merit of thirteen in an ordinary year. For the pilgrim who wants to do the Parikrama completely, efficiently, and in the most spiritually potent year available, this is the package. May through September batches are available. Most early batches are already full. Book your preferred date before it closes.

Day-by-Day Plan

Complete 9-Day Itinerary

Experience the complete Kailash Mansarovar Yatra with full Parikrama, Mansarovar darshan, and helicopter access — a spiritually complete 9-day journey.

1
✈️ Arrival & Briefing
Lucknow to Nepalgunj

Your Kailash Mansarovar Yatra begins at Lucknow. Depart on the morning flight to Nepalgunj, Nepal — the aviation and logistics hub for the helicopter route into western Tibet. Lucknow is the most convenient departure city for pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, and across the Hindi heartland. Upon arrival at Nepalgunj, the TTT representative and your dedicated guide meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. The afternoon is for document verification, permit checks, altitude briefing, and a thorough pre-departure session covering the complete 9-day journey ahead — every sacred site, every day's logistics, the acclimatisation plan, Parikrama protocols, and medical preparations for the Tibetan Plateau. Group puja and welcome dinner in the evening. Key activities: Lucknow to Nepalgunj by air · TTT reception and hotel transfer · Document and permit verification · Pre-departure briefing — route, altitude, Parikrama, spiritual significance · Group puja and welcome dinner Overnight: Nepalgunj hotel (twin sharing) | Meals: Dinner included

2
🚁 Helicopter Transfer
Nepalgunj → Hilsa → Purang

Depart early for Nepalgunj airport and the chartered helicopter — Nepalgunj to Simikot, then Simikot to Hilsa at the Nepal-Tibet border. Cross into Tibet and board dedicated 4WD vehicles for the drive to Purang (Taklakot) at approximately 3,700 metres — the first town inside Tibet and your acclimatisation base for the next two nights. Purang has an ancient history as a trans-Himalayan trade and pilgrimage gateway. The afternoon is for gentle walks, rest, and acclimatisation. Your TTT team takes pulse oximeter readings for all pilgrims. The Tibetan guide provides an orientation on what lies ahead — the sacred geography of the Kailash-Mansarovar region explained in the context of the journey you are about to begin. Key activities: Chartered helicopter Nepalgunj → Simikot → Hilsa · Tibet border crossing · Drive Hilsa → Purang (3,700m) · Acclimatisation walk and rest · Pulse oximeter monitoring · Tibetan guide briefing Overnight: Purang hotel (twin sharing) | Meals: All meals included

3
🧘 Acclimatisation
Purang Acclimatisation

A full, unhurried day at Purang — the most important investment the 9-day itinerary makes in your safety and spiritual readiness. At 3,700 metres, the body is already working noticeably harder than at sea level. This second day at Purang allows red blood cell production to begin in earnest, gives the body time to regulate its fluid balance, and significantly reduces the risk of acute mountain sickness on the ascent to Mansarovar (4,590m) and Darchen (4,575m) that begins tomorrow. Spend the day exploring Purang's ancient bazaar, visiting the Kali Temple above the town, and resting. The Pandit Ji conducts an evening group puja — the first formal ritual preparation for the sacred days ahead. Your guide walks the group through the mythology of Kailash, Mansarovar, Rakshas Tal, and the Parikrama route in detail. Key activities: Full acclimatisation day at Purang — mandatory and medically important · Purang local exploration · Kali Temple visit · Evening group puja by Pandit Ji · Detailed Parikrama route briefing by guide Overnight: Purang hotel (twin sharing) | Meals: All meals included

4
🛕 First Darshan
Purang → Mansarovar

Drive from Purang to Lake Mansarovar — passing Rakshas Tal en route for its darshan. The dark saltwater waters of Rakshas Tal, where Ravana performed his extraordinary penance and composed the Shiva Tandav Stotram, sit in dramatic contrast to the turquoise freshwater expanse of Mansarovar that opens immediately beside it. The moment Lake Mansarovar comes into full view — 4,590 metres, impossibly still, with Mount Kailash visible on the northern horizon — is among the most overwhelming of the entire 9 days. Set up at the Mansarovar camp. The afternoon is for individual prayer, meditation, and absorbing the sacred atmosphere of the lakeshore. Your Pandit Ji conducts evening prayers. Retire early — the Brahma Muhurta dip begins before dawn. Key activities: Drive Purang → Rakshas Tal darshan → Lake Mansarovar (4,590m) · First darshan of Mansarovar and Kailash on horizon · Rakshas Tal darshan and mythology · Evening prayers by Pandit Ji · Early rest for Brahma Muhurta Overnight: Lake Mansarovar camp (4,590m) | Meals: All meals included | Portable toilets provided by TTT

5
🌊 Sacred Rituals
Mansarovar → Darchen

The most sacred day of the Yatra before the Parikrama. Rise at Brahma Muhurta — 3:30 to 4:30 AM — for the holy dip in the icy waters of Lake Mansarovar, believed to cleanse the karma of many lifetimes. The pre-dawn lake is perfectly still, the stars are reflected in its surface, and the silence is absolute. Your Pandit Ji performs the complete Mansarovar Puja at the lakeshore with flowers, diyas, Gangajal, and the full ritual tradition of Shaivite worship. Board the AC Volvo-category bus for the complete 105-kilometre Mansarovar Parikrama — the full sacred circuit of the lake, completed by bus to ensure every pilgrim can experience it regardless of physical condition. Then drive to Darchen (4,575m) — the base camp of Kailash — for the first close darshan of the mountain's south face and the natural swastika formation. One acclimatisation night at Darchen before the Parikrama begins tomorrow. Key activities: Brahma Muhurta holy dip in Lake Mansarovar (3:30–4:30 AM) · Complete Mansarovar Puja by Pandit Ji · Full 105km Mansarovar Parikrama by AC Volvo bus · Drive to Darchen (4,575m) · First close darshan of Kailash south face and swastika · Parikrama gear preparation Overnight: Darchen camp (4,575m) | Meals: All meals included

6
🥾 Parikrama Day 1
Darchen → Dirapuk

The Kailash Parikrama begins. Depart Darchen and pass through Yam Dwar — the Gateway of Yamraj, where pilgrims symbolically shed worldly attachments before entering the sacred circuit. The trail follows the valley floor with Kailash's west and north faces appearing progressively as you walk. Pass Shivasthal — the mystical offering site where Tibetan tradition holds that any object left here will reach the devotee in heaven — and continue to Dirapuk Monastery (4,890m). At Dirapuk, Kailash's golden north face stands before you in full, overwhelming presence — so close that many pilgrims stop walking and stand in silence. There is nothing to say. Sunrise, afternoon light, and — for Purnima batches — the full moon rising over the north face at night: every hour at Dirapuk offers a different and equally devastating vision of Mahadev's abode. Key activities: Darchen → Yam Dwar (Gateway of Yamraj) · Shivasthal darshan and offerings · Trek to Dirapuk Monastery (12 km, 5–6 hours) · First darshan of Kailash's golden north face · Evening puja at Dirapuk · Purnima batches: full moon darshan of north face Overnight: Dirapuk camp (4,890m) | Meals: All meals included | Trek: 12 km

7
🏔️ Parikrama Day 2
Dirapuk → Dolma La → Zutulpuk

The most physically demanding and spiritually transformative day of the entire Yatra. Rise before dawn for the last moonlight darshan of Kailash's north face, then begin the steep ascent to Dolma La Pass at 5,630 metres — the spiritual apex of the Parikrama, named after Dolma (Green Tara), the Tibetan goddess of compassion. At the summit of Dolma La, pilgrims ritually release their karmas — leaving behind hair, a drop of blood, a piece of clothing, or any symbolic offering to Tara Devi. Many pilgrims weep at this moment without knowing why. It is the most intimate and unguarded moment of the entire pilgrimage. Descend past Gauri Kund (5,608m) — the sacred pool of Goddess Parvati, birthplace of Lord Ganesha — for prayers at the holy water's edge. Continue the long descent to Zutulpuk Monastery (4,760m), built around the cave where the great Tibetan yogi Milarepa meditated. Key activities: Pre-dawn darshan of Kailash's north face by moonlight · Ascent to Dolma La Pass (5,630m) — spiritual apex of the Parikrama · Karma release ritual at the pass · Gauri Kund darshan (5,608m) — birthplace of Lord Ganesha · Descent to Zutulpuk Monastery (4,760m) · Milarepa's sacred meditation cave Overnight: Zutulpuk camp (4,760m) | Meals: All meals included | Trek: 22 km | Max altitude: 5,630m

8
🏁 Completion
Zutulpuk → Darchen → Purang

The final day of the Parikrama. The path descends from Zutulpuk through the wide, flat Barkha Plains back to Darchen — the same point where the circuit began. The walk is relatively flat and, for most pilgrims, carries the particular quality of completion: Kailash visible in the distance behind you, the circle closed, the Parikrama done. Your Pandit Ji conducts the final group puja at Darchen — a formal completion ceremony and the distribution of Yatra Completion Certificates to each pilgrim. Then drive back to Purang for the final night in Tibet — a celebratory dinner, the quiet processing of everything the past 9 days have been, and the deep, satisfied sleep of a pilgrim who has completed what they came to do. Key activities: Zutulpuk → Barkha Plains → Darchen (18 km, 5–6 hours) · Completion of Kailash Parikrama · Final group puja and Yatra Completion Certificate distribution · Drive Darchen → Purang · Celebratory dinner at Purang Overnight: Purang hotel (twin sharing) | Meals: All meals included | Trek: 18 km

9
✈️ Return
Purang → Nepalgunj → Lucknow

After breakfast and check-out, transfer to Hilsa for the chartered helicopter return flight to Nepalgunj. Board your connecting flight back to Lucknow. Your 9-day Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is complete. You return to Lucknow carrying the Brahma Muhurta holy dip of Mansarovar, the north face darshan of Kailash at Dirapuk, the liberation of Dolma La at 5,630 metres, the full Parikrama of both Mansarovar and Kailash, and the particular grace that only a completed Kailash Parikrama in the Year of the Horse can bestow. Har Har Mahadev. Key activities: Final breakfast at Purang · Transfer Purang → Hilsa · Chartered helicopter Hilsa → Simikot → Nepalgunj · Nepalgunj → Lucknow by air (independently arranged) · Tour ends at Lucknow Meals: Breakfast included | Connecting flight to be arranged independently

Important Notes & Guidelines

Age and Fitness: Open to pilgrims between 18 and 70 years. The 52km Kailash Parikrama runs across 3 days at altitudes of 4,575m to 5,630m — good fitness is essential. Start 45-minute daily walks or light jogging at least 60 days prior. A medical fitness certificate from an MBBS doctor is mandatory. Pilgrims above 60 or with medical conditions must consult their physician.

Purnima vs Standard Dates: Standard departures are priced at ₹2,85,000 per person. Purnima departures (full moon alignment at Dirapuk/Zutulpuk) are ₹2,90,000. The full moon darshan of Kailash’s north face is one of the most powerful experiences — these batches sell out first.

Acclimatisation Plan: Includes 2 nights at Purang and 1 full day at Darchen before Parikrama. This reduces AMS risk significantly. Drink 3–4 litres of water daily and report any symptoms (headache, nausea, dizziness) immediately.

Document Submission: All documents must be submitted 45–60 days before departure. Chinese Group Visa takes 15–20 working days, and Tibet Travel Permit requires an additional 7–10 days.

Mobile Network: Indian SIMs do not work in Tibet. Inform family before leaving Nepalgunj. No reliable network at Purang, Mansarovar, Darchen, or during Parikrama. Satellite communication is available for emergencies.

Season & Weather: Best travel window is May to September. June–July: 15–20°C daytime, -5°C nights. Dolma La Pass (5,630m) can drop to 0°C with strong winds. Carry full winter gear including thermals, gloves, balaclava, and -10°C sleeping bag.

Cancellation Policy: Registration deposit is non-refundable. Full payment is due 45 days before departure. In case of Tibet border closure or permit rejection, full refund or free reschedule is offered as per TTT policy.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the price of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in 9 Days from Lucknow? +
The price is ₹2,85,000 per person (original ₹2,95,000) for standard departure dates and ₹2,90,000 per person for Purnima-aligned dates. No-Cost EMI is available from ₹9,466/month. The package is all-inclusive — chartered helicopter, Tibet permits, accommodation, Sattvic meals, Pandit Ji, Sherpa support, emergency medical kit, Mansarovar Parikrama by AC bus, TTT travel kit, and Yatra Completion Certificate.
What is the difference between the 9-day and 11-day Kailash Yatra by helicopter? +
Both packages include the full 52km Kailash Parikrama. The 11-day itinerary includes additional acclimatisation and buffer days, making it more comfortable for senior pilgrims or those with limited high-altitude experience. The 9-day package is ideal for fit pilgrims who want a complete Parikrama in a shorter duration, and is also ₹30,000 more economical.
Is the full Kailash Parikrama included in the 9-day package? +
Yes. The complete 52km Outer Kora is included:
• Day 1: Darchen to Dirapuk
• Day 2: Dirapuk → Dolma La Pass (5,630m) → Zutulpuk
• Day 3: Zutulpuk to Darchen Horses are available at Darchen for portions of the trek at additional cost.
Can a helicopter fly over Mount Kailash? +
No. Flying directly over Mount Kailash is prohibited by the Chinese government and is also unsafe due to extreme air currents. The helicopter is used only between Nepalgunj and Hilsa. All further travel is done by 4WD vehicles, and the Parikrama is completed on foot.
Why are Purnima departure dates priced higher? +
Purnima batches are aligned so pilgrims experience Kailash during the full moon night at Dirapuk or Zutulpuk. The moonlit view of Kailash’s north face is considered one of the most powerful spiritual experiences of the Yatra. The additional ₹5,000 reflects the high demand — these batches sell out first.
Is June a good month for the Kailash Yatra? +
Yes — June is one of the best months. Weather is stable, skies are clear, and temperatures range between 15°C to 20°C (day). The monsoon has not yet reached the Tibetan Plateau, ensuring excellent visibility. Due to high demand, most June batches sell out early — check availability in advance.
